There are other land programs both historical and current that pose complications for potentially interested buyers. IDA and Forestry Reserve properties, for instance, have legal restrictions on the change of hands and on what can do with the property once it is acquired. Similarly there are many conservationist landowners that have consigned portions of their properties to national conservation heritage. This exempts them from property taxation and makes those properties eligible for protection at the same level of National Parks. However, it also restricts land development to one tenth of the total acreage. While this is not a problem for many potential buyers, it is certainly a consideration worth understanding in great detail.
